The design concept of this bus shelter refers to the comprehensive locality by the architectural shape into the building material that used. Beginning from the design transformation, that transform the shape of Javanese traditional housing with the capability to response the tropical climate and then was modified by the potential and site analysis from the physical and non physical aspect. The dynamic form shaped as an explicit design by keeping the flexibility with the local character. It means the representative of Solo’s citizen , with their cultured but could flexible to accept the period advancement without leaving the tradition. The great preserve on locality by keeping the update. The design of this dynamic form with the local character become shorter to the West, to reduce the solar heat in the afternoon. While, the shelter design is opened to The East for easier view from user to the bus coming. The design shape is direct oblique to the right side, It aim to make the user position easy to see the bus when the user waiting on the shelter. It is shaped by the habit of the user when waiting the bus. The shelter impression is light in weight and simple outside, but when the user waiting on the shelter and look into the shelter floor, they will remember the local-architecture of Traditional Housing at The Javanese settlement by the plaited bamboo mats (gedhek).
